Conservation Area
A conservation area is a designated protected area that has been granted some measure of legal protection in order to maintain or preserve its values, be they natural features or formations, cultural heritage or biota. These include, in general, nature reserves, parks (national, natural, etc.), a land rehabilitation or reclamation project (e.g., from former industrial use).
Protecting biodiversity is an elemental part of our commitment to conduct our activities in a sustainable manner. Proteak’s Environmental Policy guides us to be a responsible steward of the natural resources we manage. Restoration plans aim to promote sustainable practices during and after resource use. In them, we integrate environmental compensation and restoration initiatives that seek to strengthen the supply of environmental goods and services.
FSC Certified Areas
There are two types of FSC certification: Forest Management and Chain of Custody. In both types of certification, FSC-accredited independent certification bodies or certifiers verify that all FSC-certified forests meet the requirements contained in the FSC forest management standard. Certification bodies evaluate forest management and chain of custody operations using FSC standards. They are independent of the FSC and the companies they audit. Third-party verification is crucial to the integrity of the FSC system.
Proteak undergoes verification audits annually for both types of verification.
Fair Employer Program
The first objective of our strategy is to Value Our People as Our Primary Competitive Advantage.
When employees are supported, the entire company thrives. For some, this means giving them opportunities for growth and leadership development. For others, it means an open work environment where dialogue is encouraged. Whatever their needs, we want to engage with them.
Carbon Offset Program
Carbon Credits, or Certified Emission Reductions (CER), are an international project that arose from the Kyoto Protocol in 1997, which invites companies to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases (GHG) into the environment, and ensures economic incentives for those who participate and contribute to this exercise.
Proteak has voluntarily engaged in a carbon credit certification process, which it has called “Fresh Breeze. The company firmly believes that carbon sequestration will contribute significantly to climate change mitigation. It also seeks to demonstrate that forestry plantations are an ideal instrument to encourage private investment in the sector, in addition to promoting afforestation projects in local communities.

Our mission is to be and be perceived as a proactive and positive neighbor. We recognize that empowerment and the generation of opportunities are the most lasting forms of community support, and are more effective than just making donations.
