Our history
Forestry: The Proteak Standard
At Proteak we have developed an integral platform for the development of forestry plantations, which allows us to consistently and reliably obtain high productivity.
All activities are developed in accordance with the guidelines of the Forestry Stewardship Council ® (FSC), the most robust system worldwide to ensure the development of socially, economically and environmentally sustainable forestry plantations.
Land acquisition
We identify areas of high potential for the development of each specific species. And we execute an acquisition protocol in each property, which includes aspects ranging from soil analysis to the evaluation of background, both legal and use.
Preparation of genetic material
We carefully select the best genetic material available for planting in each farm, as a result of an exhaustive genetic selection process. We maintain specimens of selected clones in hydroponic nurseries located in the State of Tabasco, which are propagated and maintained in optimal conditions in their greenhouses and then sent to the field.
Soil preparation and planting
We prepare the soils to obtain optimal growing conditions in a homogeneous manner throughout the planting area. In this way, we ensure that each tree is planted in physical and chemical soil conditions suitable for each species.
Maintenance
Throughout the shift, we carry out a series of activities to ensure that the plantation is in optimal growth and yield conditions. Through continuous monitoring of the state of the plantations, we determine the optimal time to carry out activities, from pest control to pruning or thinning.
